CRC Article 38 · CRC Armed Conflict Protocol

Children must not be used in fighting

You must not be recruited or used in hostilities. You can ask for safe shelter, family tracing and recovery help.

How you can use it

  1. 1Move to safety and tell a trusted adult, humanitarian worker, police officer or child-protection service.
  2. 2Say: “I am a child and I need protection from military activity.”
  3. 3Ask for shelter, recovery care and a safe plan. Do not return to a recruiter alone.

What a violation looks like

A child is recruited, used or exposed to fighting and given no protection.

Words you can use

“I am a child. I need protection from military activity.”

If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
