Level 3: Voice and fairness

CRC Article 41 · CEDAW Article 23

Use the strongest protection

If another local or international rule protects you better, adults should use the stronger one.

How you can use it

  1. 1Ask a lawyer or advocate whether a stronger rule applies.
  2. 2Say: “Please use the rule that protects me best.”
  3. 3Ask them to record which protection was applied.

What a violation looks like

An agency uses a weaker rule even though a stronger protection is available.

Words you can use

“Please use the rule that protects me best.”

If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
