You can keep your culture, language and faith
If you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or from another culture, language or faith, you have the right to enjoy it safely — including kinship and community.
How you can use it
- 1Tell your school, carer or service which language, religion or community practices matter.
- 2Say: “I want to keep and express my culture safely.”
- 3If you are mocked or stopped, record it and ask a teacher, principal or advocate for a remedy.
What a violation looks like
You are mocked for your culture, stopped from speaking your language, or cut off from kin.
Words you can use
“This is part of my identity. I want to keep it safely.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
