CRC Article 27 · ICESCR Article 11

You deserve food, clothes and a decent home

You have the right to a decent standard of living — safe housing, food, clothing, heating, hygiene and a place to study.

How you can use it

  1. 1List what you are missing, such as food, a bed, hot water or clothes.
  2. 2Tell a carer, school, caseworker or emergency service.
  3. 3Ask for an urgent plan and a follow-up date.

What a violation looks like

There is no food, the house is unsafe, or basics are taken away as punishment.

Words you can use

“I do not have ______ and it is affecting my health or safety.”

If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
