CRC Armed Conflict Protocol Articles 1 to 6
You can refuse recruitment
You can refuse recruitment or use in hostilities where it is safe, report it, and ask for the strongest available protection.
How you can use it
- 1Move to safety if you can and tell a trusted adult or child-protection service.
- 2Say: “I am a child being recruited or used.” Ask for an age assessment if records are wrong.
- 3Request recovery care, education and protection from retaliation.
What a violation looks like
An armed group recruits a child, or the State ignores a stronger protection and does not tell children their rights.
Words you can use
“I am a child being recruited or used. I need a safe way out.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
