You must not be sent somewhere you may be tortured

If removal is proposed, you can say you are afraid of torture or serious harm, and ask that removal wait for an individual decision and appeal.

How you can use it

  1. 1Tell the judge, immigration officer, lawyer or guardian you are afraid.
  2. 2Ask for an interpreter, legal aid and a private child-friendly interview.
  3. 3Request that removal stop until the decision and appeal are finished.

What a violation looks like

Words you can use

“I am afraid I will be tortured or seriously harmed if returned. Please stop removal until my appeal is finished.”
