CRPD Optional Protocol
Extra complaint routes for disability rights
A child with disability can, with support, make an accessible extra complaint or take part in an inquiry, and must not be punished for it.
How you can use it
- 1Ask a disability-rights organisation or lawyer about local options first.
- 2Prepare a timeline and the adjustment you want, in your preferred format.
- 3Request confidentiality and protection from retaliation.
What a violation looks like
A disabled complainant cannot make an accessible communication, or is punished for taking part.
Words you can use
“I need an accessible extra complaint and protection from retaliation.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
