CRC Article 31 · CRPD Article 30

You have the right to rest and play

Rest, play, sport and cultural life are rights, not rewards. They help you grow.

How you can use it

  1. 1Tell your carer or school what safe play or rest you want.
  2. 2Ask for a regular time, a safe place and any support you need.
  3. 3If refused, ask for the reason in writing.

What a violation looks like

Play is taken away for a long time, or you never get rest or a chance to join in.

Words you can use

“I need regular time to rest and play. It is part of my development.”

If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
