CRC Article 16 · ICCPR Article 17
Your private life is yours
People should not read your messages, share your story, or walk in on you without a real safety reason.
How you can use it
- 1Ask who can see your information and where you can speak privately.
- 2Say: “Please do not share my information unless the law requires it.”
- 3Write down any unwanted sharing and tell a supervisor, privacy officer or advocate.
What a violation looks like
Adults share your private story, post it, or search your things to shame you.
Words you can use
“Please keep my information private unless the law requires sharing.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
