ICCPR Article 25 · CRPD Article 29
You can take part in public decisions
A care-experienced young person can join service design, youth councils or civic decisions, with an accessible way to contribute.
How you can use it
- 1Ask your school, council or service how you can take part.
- 2Request accessible information and a way to submit your view.
- 3If excluded, ask for the rule in writing and complain to the organiser or equality body.
What a violation looks like
A young person is shut out of a public process solely because no accessible way was offered.
Words you can use
“Please give me an accessible way to take part in this decision.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
