You can ask for social-security support

You or a care leaver can ask about benefits and get help with identity documents and applications.

How you can use it

  1. 1Ask a caseworker or social-security office what help you may receive.
  2. 2Say: “I need help applying, and I need the form explained.”
  3. 3If refused, ask for written reasons and use the appeal process with an advocate.

What a violation looks like

A care leaver cannot get help because the agency never provided identity documents.

Words you can use

“I need help applying, and I need the form explained.”

If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
