CRC Article 32 · ICESCR Article 10
Work must not steal your childhood
You must not be made to do unsafe, unpaid or too-heavy work that stops you going to school or resting.
How you can use it
- 1If the work is unsafe, stop if you can do so safely and go to a safe adult.
- 2Tell a parent, teacher, caseworker, labour inspector or police officer the hours and risks.
- 3Ask for a written complaint number.
What a violation looks like
You are made to work long hours, miss school, or do jobs that hurt your body.
Words you can use
“This work is unsafe and I need protection.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
