CRPD Article 25
Health care without disability discrimination
You can ask for equal health care, pain treatment and informed explanations. Disability does not make your life less valuable.
How you can use it
- 1Tell the doctor the problem and that you want equal treatment.
- 2Ask for explanations you understand and a second opinion if needed.
- 3If treatment is denied because of disability, contact a patient advocate.
What a violation looks like
A child is denied pain treatment because staff assume disability makes care futile.
Words you can use
“I want equal health care. Please do not assume my life is worth less.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
