Disability rights should be independently watched

You can give information to an independent monitor, ask for an accessible complaint process, and ask that existing supports are not removed without consultation.

How you can use it

1. 1Identify the disability ombudsman, human-rights institution or complaints officer.
2. 2Tell them the barrier, and ask for confidentiality.
3. 3Keep the reference number and ask when it will be investigated.

What a violation looks like

The monitoring body is not independent, or a protection is removed without consulting people with disability.

Words you can use

“I want an independent, accessible complaint and I do not want this support removed.”
