ICCPR Article 14 · CRPD Article 13
You deserve a fair hearing
You have the right to a lawyer, an interpreter, to see evidence, and a genuine chance to challenge a report. Childhood should get extra safeguards.
How you can use it
- 1Ask for a lawyer, interpreter or communication support before a hearing.
- 2Say: “I need to see the evidence and have a real chance to reply.”
- 3If a secret report is used against you, tell your lawyer.
What a violation looks like
A court uses a hidden departmental report and denies the child a lawyer or a chance to reply.
Words you can use
“I need a lawyer, the evidence, and a real chance to be heard.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
