Adults must listen to you

You have the right to be heard about decisions that affect you. You can speak, write, draw, sign, or use a communication aid.

How you can use it

  1. 1Prepare what you think — words, drawing or a recording.
  2. 2Say: “I want to be heard, and I need information I understand.”
  3. 3Ask for your views to be written down.

What a violation looks like

Adults decide without you, laugh at you, or say children do not get a say.

Words you can use

“I want to use my Human Rights Matrix. I want my views recorded.”

If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
