Racist policies should be changed

Public authorities must eliminate racial discrimination, review harmful policies, and use special measures when needed for equal enjoyment.

How you can use it

1. 1Name the policy or practice that treats you worse because of race or descent.
2. 2Ask the agency to review it and provide equal services.
3. 3If they refuse, ask an advocate or complaints body for an independent review.

What a violation looks like

An agency keeps a policy that produces worse outcomes for Aboriginal children and will not review it.

Words you can use

“Please review this policy. It treats me worse because of race or descent.”
