If you are seeking safety from another country, you have the right to a guardian, interpreter, safe place, family tracing and an individual assessment.
How you can use it
- 1Tell an immigration officer, caseworker, lawyer or trusted adult you are seeking safety.
- 2Say: “I am a child and I am afraid of harm if I return.”

What a violation looks like
An unaccompanied child gets no guardian, no safe bed and no protection assessment.
Words you can use
“I am a child and I am afraid of harm if I return. I need a guardian and a lawyer.”
If speaking is hard, write it, draw it, send a message, or ask a trusted adult to say it with you.
